EMERALD BAYOU FOUNDATION
Mission
Emerald Bayou Foundation (EBF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing a
sustainable Louisiana-based global entertainment industry.
Our objective is to provide a healthy, thriving entertainment industry with a well-trained professional workforce,
a sustained level of production, ample financing, and a culture of excellence.
EBF reaches out to people of all ages, backgrounds, and economic status with training and
information about the entertainment industry, film production and entertainment technology.
The Foundation also provides information to state and national policy law makers regarding
the entertainment industry and digital technology.
Objectives
The Foundation serves as a direct connection between Louisiana and the global creative community by:

Mayor Kip Holden of Baton Rouge; Scott Ross, founder of Academy Award winning Digital Domain (Titanic, Pirates of the Caribbean);
Senator Jay Dardenne (currently Louisiana Secretary of State); Linda Thurman (formally with EBS) and Marquetta Cheeks of Emerald Bayou Studios
address the American Film Market in Santa Monica, California.
Activities and Accomplishments The Foundation has reached out to people from all walks of life throughout the state to inform and assist the development of the entertainment industry through various activities:
March Movie Magic, a seminar on careers in film production, was attended by more than 300 guests.
Invited to testify on entertainment industry issues for Louisiana legislative hearings
Guest speakers for Entergy’s Louisiana State Team City Conference
Conducted site tour and location scouting in more than 30 parishes
Coordinated Los Angeles trip for Louisiana Capitol Area Economic Development Association (LaCAEDA) to introduce and promote nine
area parishes to the Entertainment Industry and American Film Market
Spoken frequently at regional organizations i.e. the Baton Rouge Rotary Club, Lafayette City Council, New Roads Rotary Club, and the Capital City Network, a professional women’s leadership organization
Represented the entertainment industry for high school career days
Support local programs for creativity and learning
