OLD MILL GETS NEW LIFE
Emerald Bayou Studios will locate its headquarters in a century-old mill in picturesque New Roads, Louisiana, near Baton Rouge.
EBS is committing $1.5 million to Phase 1 of developing a soundstage, training campus and offices. The 40,000 sq. ft. free-span building will be retrofitted for production.

New structures on the 6-acre site will house EBS' in-house training program Home Grown Workforce Initiative, and the Louisiana Technical College-Jumonville Film Production Class.

Construction and renovation should take 3 to 6 months.
BUSY YEAR AHEAD
With facilities opening in New Roads and at the LITE Center in Lafayette, training programs Home Grown Workforce Initiative and LTC-Jumonville, it will be a busy year for industry veterans Marquetta Cheeks, President of Production, and Linda Thurman, President of Business Development. The EBS production slate for 2007 will be announced shortly.

"THE GLASS CHORD"
IN POST-PRODUCTION
"The Glass Chord" is a touching story about an aging musician suffering from Alzheimer's. It was produced by Emerald Bayou Studios, its in-house training program Home Grown Workforce Initiative, and the LTC-Jumonville Film Class.
Blues legend Henry Gray, Grammy Nominee and winner of the National Endowment of the Arts' National Heritage Award, stars and performs his own music in the film.
New Orleans native Keith L. Smith, director for "The Glass Chord", has over fifteen years' experience working on movies such as "JFK", "Meteor Man", "A Few Good Men", and "Natural Born Killers". Primarily a Director of Photography, "The Glass Chord" is Smith's directorial debut.
WORKFORCE TRAINING
In making "The Glass Chord", LTC-Jumonville film students had 12 weeks of hands-on experience with 35 mm film cameras, lighting, and sound equipment guided by Hollywood professionals who flew in to become part of the rewarding experience.
Students will next have on-the-job training with Home Grown Workforce Initiative production crews.
