The Basic Requirements

  • Prior Experience
    Many skills transfer to production in addition to previous training in film production, broadcast production, theatrical production and /or other media related training.

    • Electrical, carpentry, construction and/or other construction related training

    • Wardrobe styling, makeup, hair styling, sewing, tailoring

    • Accounting, public relations, marketing and promotion

    • Catering, craft services


    Home Grown Workforce Initiative
    is a comprehensive hands-on program providing professional instruction and production experience for behind-the-camera technicians and craft specialists. The 12-week program is designed to help provide a viable production workforce for Louisiana's burgeoning film industry.

    The Home Grown Workforce Initiative will be offering staff, crew and trainee positions for a slate of feature films to be produced by Emerald Bayou Studios.

    If you are a Louisiana resident with film, broadcast or video training, but need an entree to film production, you may qualify for a trainee crew position and earn screen credit under the guidance of mentor crew members who are experienced industry professionals.

    Unique Opportunity
    Trainees will be paid a crew rate - no fee for training as they work on a professional motion picture production. They will receive classroom training and get hands-on experience, learn set protocol, standard industry practices and production skills as they earn screen credit.

    • Must commit for entire 12 weeks

    • Must commit for full time employment:

    • 5-day work weeks

    • 8 to 14 hour work days

    • work evenings and/or weekends as needed
    Behavior and Character Traits
    In production, time is money. Production personnel must arrive at work on time prepared to work long, sometimes tedious hours, with a positive attitude, and high energy to perform directed tasks.

    Production is a demanding environment. Mutual respect and support are essential along with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
